  Amira has a new pony for pony club. His name is Jupiter, a 10 year old welsh gelding and a whopping 13h! The two have spent a few days together getting to know one another, and it seems to be a good match. He is quiet, loves to jump and is already following Amira around like a puppy dog. Look for them at the next mounted lesson!!  Hey Everybody! Today was the last day of USPC Champs West 2010, we wrapped up the eventing rally with fabulous crosscountry rounds for the whole team, no jumping or time penaltys for anyone. Our boys were both pretty amped coming off the xc course but they got checked out just fine in the vet box. We ended the rally in 3rd place overall, but we had to fight for it! Jess and I woke up late one morning thanks to a silenced alarm and didnt get to the barn until 6:50 instead of 6:30 to feed and were given two penalty points but we protested it to the CHMJ and got one of the points back which put us in 3rd place overall and is sending us home with two County saddle pads and a cooler for Wes who came in closest to optimum time in our division plus numerous awesome ribbons. We were honored to win horse management for the whole rally and recieve a perpetual memorial engraved cup for our hard work and much thanks to our fantastic stable manager Katie Brewer from the Sierra Pacific region. We both made some great new friends and had a blast getting to know people from different regions, if anyone has a chance to go to champs you definitly should its a great experience! This years championships are over, but the USPC hasnt seen the last of us, Jessica & I are already aiming for Kentucky Champs Festival 2011 and we'll be looking forward to Baywood joining and supporting us on our road to Kentucky! Check out our pics from this week! Kristi & Jess         Today was the second day off the eventing rally! We had our Stadium round in a HUGE outdoor ring. Bravo was fourth in his division but then we took two rails so we moved down to seventh. I was pretty bummed about this but tomorrow is a new day and we get to do our favorite activity: Cross Country! Kristi and Wes were 9th in their division and only took down one rail so they moved up to 7th place in Senior Novice Amateur. Our team received no Horse Management points today so we are still in first place in horse management. The other two riders on our team rode great show jump rounds so hopefully we moved up in the standings in the rally. We had jog outs (now called Horse Inspections), and everybody passed with flying colors. The ponies were tired but mustered up enough energy to trot down the barn aisle one more time. We have cross country rides early tomorrow morning. The ponies are all wrapped up and put to bed and it is time for us to do the same. We will write with the news of how it all goes. Jess & Kristi   Hey guys!! sorry we didnt get this up sooner things have been a little crazy around here. Day three of the first rally ended up good, we both had good last rides. Me & Wes with a dressage freestyle and Jess & Brav with a take your own line showjumping course. My team ended up in 3rd overall for dressage and Jessica's in 2nd overall for showjumping. We spent wednesday getting reorganized, doing laundry and taking care of the horses. Yesterday the event rally started, the rest of our team arrived and we got everything set up in our tack/feed rooms, we did our jog outs/horse inspections, walked our crosscountry course and had a competitor briefing. The horse park filled up fast!! There are over 350 horses here for the horse trials, beginner novice through advanced and the Olympic competitor Gina Miles is here riding three different horses we were excited to watch. Today was formal turnout inspections and dressage, we both had good formals and our team is currently in 1st for horse management. We both also had great dressage rides. Our CHMJ is pretty cool and let us leave a little early tonight so we had some playtime to try out riding the statues, but we have to be at the barn by 6:30 in the morning again tomorrow so its time for us to go to bed! We'll keep you posted on our progress, we ride showjump tomorrow or you guys can check out start box scoring online to see scores for the entire event. Kristi & Jess   We made it through day 2! (barely)... atleast the wind wasnt bad like yesterday (30 mph) but it did get pretty hot, so hot that after dressage I went to take my jacket off and the lining was so stuck to me it ripped out, the jacket came off and the lining didnt... Horse management was a little cranky today, and they are getting verrryyyyyy strict but on the other hand the rally organizers are GREAT! We got lucky enough to spend part of the morning watching the International Tetrathlon Riders so their very interesting show jump/trail course round, there were teams from the USA, Ireland, Austrailia, UK & Canada. Jess had two great jump rounds and her show jump team is currently in 2nd place! I also had two really great rides, I finished with 70.0 on both tests but they havent posted team placings yet so Im not sure where we stand. Final jump rounds and musical freestyles are tomorrow we'll report back with more info & pictures tomorrow night! Kristi & Jess   Today was the first day of Pony Club Championships West. We had to be at the barn by 6:30 this morning so we started the day out with a stop at Starbucks and Kristi immedialty dumbed all over her lap. We had formals early this afternoon with plenty of time to bathe and polish before. While Kristi was getting Wes ready, another club began playing Lady Gaga, much to dismay. He started freaking out and rearing in his stall anytime Kristi would leave and the radio was on. Bravo was good to get ready but he soon figured out to look over the edge of his stall into my tack room and beg for treats, which my team members thought was hilarious. The team work on both teams was fantastic. Formals are a great time for the team to band together and get everyone polished and ready. The competition started out with good rides for both Kristi and me. Wes was a star in the Dressage ring and never spooked at anything. Brav saved me more than once on the course and only had one rail, so I was really pleased with him. Tomorrow Kristi has 2 tests, Training level test 4 for both and I have an equitation round and Power and Speed round. Another early start tomorrow, so its time for us to hit the hay! More updates to come. Wish everyone was here! Jessica and Kristi  Hey Baywood! We made it to sunny Woodside, CA. The weather is great, warm and beautiful! The drive was 15 hours, we did it in two days, staying overnight in Ashland, Oregon thursday and arriving here friday afternoon. We had time to go out for a hack around the crosscountry course (staying off the track of any fences of course!) it's huge & wide open with tons of fences and some crazy kamikaze squirrels :) We saw a duck shaped jump from the Bejiing Olympics with Gina Miles's name on it, it was pretty cool, the course here goes through advanced. The Woodside Horse Park is awesome, there are ten arenas including: a polo arena (complete with netting and bleachers), a grand prix jumping arena thats huge!, a brand new covered arena and numerous others all with great footing and beautiful fencing. We took the boys for a few walks throughout yesterday and today exploring the place and came across an equine tredmill and some great trails through the woods. The bay arena where dressage will take place looks out of San Francisco Bay, the veiw is quite impressive! Our teams arrived today and got almost done organizing our tack rooms etc. before the opening ceremony that was at 7 pm and showcased a color guard equine drill team as well as a 4th level dressage freestyle that we all enjoyed watching! The barns open at 6:30 AM tomorrow morning so its time for us to hit the hay! We'll keep you posted on how things go at USPC Championships West!!! Wish you were here! Kristi & Jess Well, for one of the wettest days for a Rally, our girls did very well! From a waterlogged field to park the trailer, which was used as a tack room, tying four horses to one trailer and walking ¼ of a mile to the next farm in the pouring rain to ride their tests….. Not to mention sump pumps on the arena to siphon off the water peculating up through the arena sand floor, so the riders could jump the jumps and not the puddles… The weather did not let up. The girls had fun though at the D Rally, and came in 5th place. Many of our “D” riders had not been to a rally before. Good Job Girls!! Here are some photos of the wet, wet day.
