Unmounted Lessons

Picture
The unmounted program is designed to help members to become competent horsemen at home and at regular lessons, to progress from one rating to another, and to be prepared to compete at rallies and in other open competitions. This program is NOT designed to provide full coverage of all the topics tested at every level a child may wish to rate to, but should give a good overview over a 12- month period.  Additional study and prep will be required for any testing and in preparation for any given rally.
There are 22 Horse Management meetings a year (No meeting in December).
Unmounted groups are divided by age, not rating, to ensure that older members are stimulated and want to stay involved while younger members are not overwhelmed.  Younger members are welcome to stay for the higher level teachings if they are learning at that level.

We will quickly discuss vaulting as a sport and go into bandaging by applying boots, polo wraps and a stable and/or shipping. Time will be a factor as to how much we cover. Handout given.
